Haberdasher vs. Tailor

Jeff Collins, Professional Haberdasher
Recently I had an inquiry from a young gentleman who wanted my help making the suits he purchased from a local store fit properly. Based on the issues he relayed to me I was able to give him some suggestions on how the garments could be adjusted to fit his frame and get closer to the look he was attempting to achieve. Then I gave him the name & number of a master tailor.
You see, he didn’t really need me at that point. He needed someone to fix his problems by adjusting ill-fitting clothing & make them work for him. That is the difference between a tailor & a haberdasher. The tailor fixes the things you buy off the rack at stores while my way of helping people is to make the clothes fit perfectly… in the first place. A haberdasher gets to understand the style, fit & function you want from your clothing. Then has the clothing made to fulfill your wishes.

My Tailor said he welcomes the business so please let me know if you would like to be referred to him. He is in downtown Seattle.

Mike,
Thank you for the inquiry. In order to email you I need your email address. Also I do not want to post my tailor's information here on the web but am happy to let you know who I work with if you call or send an email. Thank you.

Hey Jeff,
I'm from the Bellevue Seattle area as well and I was wondering if this tailor you speak of is in the area. I don't have a tailor, but need one, and want an extremely good one. Also, I was wondering the price range of your shirts (if you could email that!)
Thanks a ton!
Mike
